The food is really very good- and I have to say you can't say this about most buffets, and it's a lot of fun just trying all these different foodstuffs, finding out whats where, getting pissed on all the wine you can drink (I had three glasses of that shiraz cab, before switching to a Chilean Cab), and walking out wondering what you missed out on.

Presentation is excellent. With so many different cuisines available, try something different for each course, and with the choice of wines by the glass, finding complementary wines and food makes for a fun experience.

OK, so it’s in Pattaya not Bangkok, but we do get out of the smoke from time to time and Mantra may just be a good enough reason to escape again. A gargantuan and unashamedly luxurious celebration of all things culinary, this restaurant is not what most of us expect of Pattaya.

I discovered - to my delight - a fantastic new restaurant called the Mantra Restaurant and Bar, and talked awhile with its manager, a man of mixed Iranian and Swiss ancestry called Geev Andre Bahrampoori, about the place, its business direction and his management style.

For dessert we were tempted by the Mantra Special for 4. This comprised of Tiramisu Zuccotto, frozen margarita roll, a dreamy dark chocolate truffle mousse, lemongrass & pandan, cr่me brulee, cheesecake, white chocolate & yogurt mousse cake and Passion fruit cream cone with mixed berry salad. A gastronomic experience if ever there was one. Here at the Mantra it seems anything is possible, the sky is the limit. Highly recommended.

Restaurangen är en lyxrestaurang och ligger i början på Beach Road, mitt emot Thai Airways kontor. Var där med några vänner för någon vecka sedan. Det var lyxig inredning men de spelade musik så högt att vi hade svårt att kommunicera med varandra och kyparna hade också svårt att höra oss. Vi var sex personer vid bordet och 4 av oss gav klart underkänt för maten. En restaurang jag absolut inte kan rekommendera.

Wow! Never ceases to amaze me how this place continues to grow and change. Yesterday I was once again exploring and had an opportunity to take a tour of the new Amari bar/restaurant called the "Mantra" on Beach Road here in Pattaya. To put the place in a single word would be difficult at best but 'amazing' gets close, 'extraordinary' gets near as well but even those words don't describe it.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was really really elegant. More than lots of restaurants in Bangkok. Huge wall showing illuminated bottles of spirits. High-arched ceiling magnified the grandeur feeling. Tandoor oven loomed behind marble counter. Very impressive.
